James Joyce Tower Museum

South of Dublin is the forty foot Sandy Cove, one of the towers built to withstand an invasion by Napoleon and now a memorial dedicated to the great writer James Joyce.

Documents, photographs and personal possessions of Joyce can be viewed in the museum.

The tower, known as Ulysseus, his great work dates back to 1904.

The fascinating museum is situated eight miles south of Dublin on the coast:

By train DART to Sandycove or
By bus 59 from Dun Laoghaire

The tower is open from April until September, Monday - Saturday 10am -1pm then 2pm until 5pm

Visitors wishing to come along during any other time of the year should make prior arrangements with the curator.
