Irish Breaks
Youghal

The old heritage town, a fine example of a Norman walled port and later a textile centre, is situated at the mouth of the Blackwater.

Visitors and locals can walk along the promenade to the 8km beach and see the visitor centre where they can learn the history of Youghal whose name means yew wood. Take a guided tour and notice the Victorian shop fronts next to 13th and 16th century houses and soak up the atmosphere of this beautiful old town.
