History

As a youth Michael Maguire learned the art of wicker-work baskets from his grandfather. Many years later he became a modeller for Belleek Pottery. There he took inspiration from his knowledge of his craft to combine the images of his traditional skill with the most symbolic of Irish emblems, the Shamrock.

The result was the Shamrock tea-set, which since its inception in the 1880's has expanded to include tableware and giftware. Today, ever as popular, it is found world wide and to the countless emigrants and their descendents, it serves as a reminder of their roots on the mist laden land of Ireland.
